Increasing the role of agricultural science at the stage of European integration

Abstract

Goal. To outline the main tasks and ways of increasing the role of domestic agricultural science at the stage of its European integration. Methods. Dialectical and logical methods of scientific know­ledge; systematic generalization of assessments of the potential of domestic agricultural science and its capabilities for the preparation of substantiated proposals for solving the problems of agro-industrial and rural development; analysis and synthesis of statistical data to confirm relevant trends. Results. The main problems were identified and ways to increase the effectiveness of the functioning of domestic agricultural science in modern conditions were proposed. Conclusions. Emphasis was placed on the shortcomings of the legislative framework and the imperfection of the mechanisms for supporting the priority development of modern agricultural science; directions for increasing the competitiveness of the agrarian economy on the domestic and world markets were proposed. The results of the research can be used to ensure the effective entry of the agrarian sphere of Ukraine into the European Union, as well as the adoption of relevant government decisions on the functioning of agrarian science.
