Abstract
Goal. To identify and outline the steps to significantly improve the quality of training of highly qualified engineering and scientific personnel in the country, and increase the role of agricultural engineering science and modern agricultural engineering on the way to Ukraine’s entry into the European Economic Area. Methods. The methods of dialectical analysis, as well as logical methods, were used, which enabled a deeper and more systematic understanding of the cause-and-effect relationships that existed in the field of agricultural production. Results. The ways of the country’s exit from the crisis state were considered, in particular, concrete steps to improve modern methods of effective training of engineering and scientific personnel, significantly increasing the role of agricultural engineering science, implementation of project and design developments to create samples of agricultural machinery that would correspond to the best world analogs. Conclusions. On the way to the fastest possible integration of Ukraine into the European Union in the field of agricultural engineering, the following priority steps should be taken. First, to restore the former scope of studies at the engineering faculties of agricultural universities of fundamental disciplines, to increase the requirements for their teaching, and, in general, to achieve a higher general level of education and practical training, which will contribute to the training of competitive specialists. It is necessary to do this under the condition of training engineering personnel using high technologies and the most modern equipment. Secondly, to significantly raise the requirements for the level of training of highly qualified agricultural engineering personnel — doctors of philosophy and doctors of technical sciences. Third, to implement deep complex developments (fundamental and applied), the scientific capacity of which would be as high as possible. For such developments, tenders must be announced in advance, and scientists must be involved in their implementation on a contractual basis. Only in this case, research that will have the necessary depth and contain new results will make it possible to design and construct agricultural machines and tools that will compete on the world market. Scientists of the new generation will be able to implement all these tasks and plans.
