Scientific approaches to the creation of industrial cherry plantations in Ukraine

Abstract
Goal. To evaluate the contribution of domestic science to the development of the industrial culture of cherries in Ukraine and the role of Ukrainian scientists in the formation of the principles of its competitiveness. Methods. Cherry technological studies were conducted from 1969 to 2024 using the following methods: expert — to identify the main trends of cultural development; analysis — to evaluate the performance and product quality indicators; theoretical generalization — to generalize the world and national experience, implement domestic competitive developments; statistical — to evaluate the accuracy of the results. Results. The stages of scientific research on the development of the industrial culture of cherries in the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine are allocated, and the key factors on which the profitability of its cultivation in this zone and the commodity quality of fruits depend are determined. Conclusions. It is proved that the developments of domestic scientists, in particular the authors of the work, on the creation and productive use of modern plantations of cherries are based on their experiments and many years of experience, are relevant and in demand in production, provide real prerequisites for the successful development of export of fresh fruits of Ukrainian cherries to the world market.
